Discounts (coupons & sales)

Sell → Discounts holds two separate tools: coupon codes customers enter themselves, and sales that discount prices automatically for everyone.

Coupons

A coupon is a code customers type in at checkout. Each coupon has:

  • A type — percentage off (e.g. 15%) or a fixed amount off (e.g. Rs 200).
  • An optional usage limit — total redemptions, or one per customer.
  • An optional valid date range — coupons outside their window are rejected automatically.

Coupons are validated live at checkout, so an expired or over-used code is rejected before the order is placed.

Sales

A sale applies a discount automatically to a set of products (or your whole store) for a scheduled window — no code required. Set a start and end time and Forma handles switching prices on and back off for you.

Which one to use

Use a coupon when you want to track a specific promotion (an influencer code, a first-order discount) or gate it behind sharing the code. Use a sale for storewide events like Eid or a clearance weekend where every visitor should see the lower price immediately.

Try it end to end before launching a promotion

Create a test coupon and run it through your own checkout once before announcing a promotion publicly — see Create a discount code.
